On the holiest of days for Christians, Easter Sunday, a horrific attack was carried out in Sri Lanka where more than 300 people were killed, and hundreds more were injured, in a series of coordinated bombings.
On behalf of the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office…we would like to send condolences to the families and loved ones of those injured and all Christian worshipers.
We are deeply saddened by this devastating attack. Senseless acts of violence in places where people expect to be the safest, like a place of worship, are sickening. We have no room in our society, or the world, for this kind of hatred, and as a law enforcement office, we work to protect all people and their right to worship in peace.
To the people of Sri Lanka, please know that you are in our thoughts and our prayers.
